A
wave of Nostalgia hit me a couple nights ago; while I was little I would go
every summer for a couple of weeks to a house my grandparents owned in the
mountains. There I had the best times with my grandparents, my grandma would
always be able to share a slice of wisdom with me and my sister; this is by far
the most figurative story of all. This is not the story about the golden apples
that everybody heard, it’s better.
There was once a king who had
three kids he’d always be proud of how his kids loved him. One day he asked his
three kids how much they really loved him. One kid said “Dad, I love you like I
love chocolate!” The second son said “Dad, I love you as much as the whole
universe!” The third and youngest son said “Dad, I love you like salt!” “How
dare you defy me like this son!?” and exiled his youngest son.
The kid had nowhere to go until
he stumbled upon an old house; the house was a motel, no one ever went there
but it seemed much taken care of. The kid entered and an old lady introduced
him “Well,” said the lady “what are you doing outside alone, dear?” “My father
is the king,” the boy said “but he was disappointed I compared our love with
salt.” “Oh was he, my dear? Well it just happens that I have to cook for a fest
of his the upcoming Monday; say would you like to cook with me?”
The boy and the old lady
started cooking together, all night, all day, for the big feast; the best meat
of the country, the best sea food, the best desserts, all made without salt.
The day of the feast comes and
both the boy, disguised of course, and the lady are at the feast; the king has
a big ceremony with kings from other reigns and they all start to eat, at once;
“Ahh!! What is this?! There I no Salt!!!” and then his younger son appeared: “Father,
don’t you see? Salt is more valuable than you think; will you take me back with
you and my brothers?” the king finally understood and took his son back.
Ok,
thanks for letting me erupt my nostalgia. Have you ever heard the story? Did
you like it?
