What Watchdogs' End Might Mean... Watchdogs 2?

Watchdogs might just be this year’s game of the year (here is what I thought about it). But there is little detail that might just make it SERIES of the century. But Warning SPOILERS AHEAD

In the end of Watchdogs you get to kill Maurice, Aiden’s niece’s killer, and/or Damien Brenks, former partner of Aiden’s. But there is a scene at the end during the credits that can be interpreted in many different ways.

The scene is set up in a television during a Newscast displaying a reporter and an announcement from ctOS which is the Operating System that Aiden Pierce, the main character in Watchdogs, uses to do all his crazy tricks with. The announcement announces the expansion of the ctOS to bigger cities. What did that mean?

Ubisoft often teases a new game in the current of the series, like in Assassin’s Creed; the series couldn’t have obviously finished with the ending of Revelations or II. So can’t Watchdogs, and they wouldn’t have put that scene there if it meant nothing. This brings questions to my mind…

What would be the story behind the second one? In the first one Aiden was looking for revenge, going after his niece’s killer; if there is going to be a second one what will be the story? Will the settings change? Will the characters change? What new hacks would we want to see? All these questions will be answered below by MY opinion.

The story might be a continuation of the first Watchdogs…or it might not; in Assassin’s Creed the characters were driven to protect or find an object, in Splinter Cell an agent has to eliminate a threat against America; Watchdogs though is all about revenge so I wonder if they’ll change the basic of the story for a possible new game or if they keep the revenge story, in which case it’ll look very stupid.

In the previous games, like Assassin’s Creed or Splinter Cell, Ubisoft has changed settings for almost every title, The latest Watchdogs was set in Chicago one of the biggest cities in America; would the next one be a real actual city, or a made up city, or a made up name but an actual city like in GTA. They called Chicago its actual name so I don’t think they’ll have a problem with calling another city with its actual name.

It wouldn’t be the first time that we’d see characters changing in the same series so that could be an option too if there ever is another Watchdogs game. Aiden had a very interesting personality and I’d hate to see that character go but at the same time I’m sure Ubisoft would be able to come up with a character as interesting as Aiden and maybe even more fun.

As for new hacks I’m a little skeptic because the current Watchdogs has explored almost all of them and I can’t really see more coming; maybe more things will be able to be hacked, like (Oh shit can’t think of anything) doors… anyway, I’m sure Ubisoft would come up with something if needed.

I’m sure Watchdogs’ success now that it is released shook some waters, if it hadn’t already, and Ubisoft couldn’t just end a project with only one title, they never have and never will.

What did you think of Watchdogs? Do you think there’ll be a new one? What do you think Ubisoft hasn’t given us yet?
